Mire product page. A strategic territory game for iOS and macOS, targeting a December 2025 launch.

In development

Mire

Mire is a strategic territory game where two players place pins to claim space. An ensemble of machine-learning models determines ownership after every move — producing boundaries that are organic, elevation-aware, and never quite the same twice. A single continuous skill rating drives everything from terrain extremity to AI planning depth, so the game grows with you without ever asking you to pick a difficulty.

Design principles

Five commitments that shaped every other decision.

01
Controlled discomfort
The board tilts, territories breathe, terrain rolls. You feel clever when you win, intrigued when you lose.
02
Emergent complexity
Simple rules, ML boundaries, topographic influence, and territory friction — together they produce games nobody has designed in advance.
03
Adaptive challenge
A single skill rating from 0 to 1 scales every difficulty parameter via sigmoid curves. Beginners play on nearly-flat boards; experts get dramatic terrain.
04
Radical simplicity
No live ops, no seasons, no battle pass, no daily grind. Ship a complete, polished experience and let it stand on its own.
05
Privacy first
Zero data collection. Games, history, and the local ML model stay on your device. iCloud sync is optional and user-controlled.

Game modes at launch

Solo
Human vs AI
Play against an opponent blending heuristic rules, Monte-Carlo simulation, and an on-device neural agent. Difficulty tracks your skill automatically.
Online
Asynchronous match
Game Center pairs you with a similarly-skilled opponent. Take your turn when the moment suits; up to ten concurrent matches.
Friends
Challenge by invite
Challenge a specific Game Center friend. Same rules, same async pacing — just the opponent of your choosing.
Learn
Three-game tutorial
High ground, pin density, first strike. Three compact scenarios that teach the system without tutorials-in-the-abstract.

Under the hood

Boundary engine 4 ML models blend per-game — KDE, power diagram, Bayesian, graph propagation — weighted by skill and calculation speed.
Skill scale 0–1 One continuous rating drives terrain extremity, feature count, AI depth, influence distance, and convergence thresholds.
Boundary calc budget <8s Target on iPhone XS and up. Territory snapshots are cached; pins are cryptographically signed with Curve25519.
Data leaving device 0 No analytics SDKs, no crash phone-home, no account. Game Center handles matches; iCloud is opt-in.

Privacy by default

What this actually means

Mire collects no personal data. Game history and skill rating live only on your device. The neural agent trains locally — weights never leave the device. Multiplayer is Game Center; iCloud sync is optional and controlled through system settings. Read the full privacy policy →

Availability & pricing

Free to play

Every mode, every feature, no ads, no subscription. Free on launch day and every day after.

One tip jar. Non-recurring. Nothing is gated behind it. If the game earns its keep on your device, that's how you say so.

Not yet on the App Store. TestFlight will open closer to launch — watch this page or check back after December.
